This consistently ranks as one of the best places for sushi in Utah county. Interview from Preston On a scale of 1-10 rate your overall opinion of this restaurant: Preston: 8 What was the best thing you ate? Preston: All of the sushi is surprisingly fresh here considering that the place is located in a strip mall. I tried it one time on a whim and I love the sashimi, rolls and edamame (it seems that for some reason finding good edamame in Utah is difficult). I think having fresh sashimi is the key to really enjoying a sushi restaurant. A lot of people try to mask less-than-fresh fish by deep-frying rolls, adding cream cheese, etc., but the flavor of Shoga's sushi is always right on. I love this place and recommend it to anybody. What was the worst thing you ate? Preston: The only thing I've had here that I didn't really like is the teriyaki chicken. I didn't order it, though, as I'm not usually a huge fan of teriyaki anyway. My friend liked his (he wasn't a sushi eater) so it probably isn't very bad. How was the service? Preston: I've eaten here probably seven or eight times and the service is usually pretty good. They aren't as proactive about refilling drinks as I would always like but overall I think the service is good. Would you go back? Preston: Absolutely - like most sushi places the bill can really rack up if you eat a lot of rolls but if you're in for lunch you should check out the lunch combo. I think you get two rolls and miso soup for under $10. I seem to remember that they also had a good deal on nigiri for lunch but it was chef's choice (which I don't usually like as much because I feel like the pick the things that they want to get rid of). |
